The exhibition follows Jerusalem through the eyes of tourists in the late Ottoman and Mandate periods.
How did Jerusalem and its inhabitants look in the eyes of Jewish and non-Jewish tourists who came from the West? What did they think of the guides, lodging, and food? And which souvenirs did Jerusalem’s “machers” sell them?

The character of the Holy City in the historical novel Ephraim’s Bones
The Old Yishuv Museum is the appropriate setting for this lecture. David de Wolf brings the Old Yishuv before 1882 with his writings to life. With visionaries as Yechiel Pines, Yehoshua Yellin, Yoel Salomon and many more.
There will be an introduction by Dr. Eyal Meiron and the lecture will be embellished with a performance by opera singer Frederique Bosz.
